Hi, I’m Nicole. This is Colla.

I started Colla after planning my own wedding, to make wedding planning easier (and a lot more fun) with a little help from AI.

i.Where it started

It started with a lot of spreadsheets.

When I was planning my wedding, I had spreadsheets for just about everything and I even bought one online. I’m a detail person, so I wanted to know exactly what was happening. But information was scattered everywhere, formulas kept breaking, and nothing quite worked for planning an international wedding with different currencies.

Then I flew to South Africa without my laptop because I didn’t have enough room in my luggage. Big mistake. Trying to manage those spreadsheets on my phone was a nightmare. So there’s my first wedding planning tip: bring the laptop!

Between working full-time, moving house the week before flying, and helping guests traveling to Cape Town, there was a lot going on. And despite all my planning, things still slipped through the cracks.

The final few weeks were especially overwhelming. Little costs kept popping up with supplier payments we hadn’t expected to pay so soon. We knew our overall budget, but not always exactly how much we’d need to pay or when. Looking back, I wish we’d had clearer quotes, payment dates, and a better savings plan from the beginning.

And that’s really where Colla started.

I took everything I’d learned and started building the planning tools I wish I’d had. A detailed, beautifully designed Wedding Journal for people like me who love having everything laid out in front of them with an AI wedding companion to help keep track of it all.

Because whether you’re a Type A or Type B person, wedding planning should be something you enjoy. Things won’t always go exactly as planned, and that’s okay. At the end of the day, what matters most is the two of you. But having help along the way makes a huge difference.

ii.What Colla helps with

All the details, in one place. Finally.

Everything I wish I’d had while I was planning. You chat to Colla, and it keeps your Wedding Journal up to date.

  • Money, with no surprisesEvery quote, deposit and final balance, plus a savings plan: what to save, when, and whether you’ll make each payment on time. In any currency.
  • SuppliersEvery supplier on one board, from Considering to Paid, with their quotes and contracts filed away.
  • GuestsRSVPs, meal choices and dietary needs in one list, plus who still needs to reply.
  • SeatingDrag a guest, or a whole household, onto a table on your floor plan.
  • The day itselfYour running order, golden hour at your venue, and a PDF you can send to your coordinator.
  • A Sunday check-inOnce a week Colla tidies everything up and leaves you a short note on what’s coming next.
iii.Making it yours

It’s the little things you end up remembering.

I’m not really a cake person, so we had two of my favorite South African desserts instead, malva pudding and milk tart. Because why wouldn’t you want your favorite puddings at your own wedding?

My husband and I also spent pretty much every weekend practicing our first dance. Some attempts were definitely better than others.

Not everything needs to be about budgets and deadlines. There’s something really lovely about choosing the little details that feel like you, and I’d love Colla to give you more time for those.
